Ingredients

1 garlic clove , thinly sliced
3 -4 tablespoons olive oil
8 -12 grape tomatoes
1/4 onion , minced
salt
2 teaspoons parmesan cheese , grated
Pasta With "quickie" Sauce is a simple and easy dish that comes together in minutes. It is perfect for busy weeknights when you want a satisfying meal without a lot of fuss. The sauce is made with grape tomatoes, garlic, and onions and is light and fresh. The dish is finished with a sprinkle of parmesan cheese for added flavor. While this dish is not the most nutritionally complete on its own, it can be easily customized by adding protein and veggies to make it a well-rounded meal.

Instructions

1.Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the pasta and cook according to package directions until al dente.
2.While the pasta cooks, heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the sliced garlic and sauté for 30 seconds, or until fragrant.
3.Add the grape tomatoes and minced onion to the pan and continue to sauté for 2-3 minutes, or until the tomatoes have started to soften.
4.Drain the pasta, reserving a cup of the pasta water. Add the pasta to the skillet with the tomato mixture and toss to coat the pasta.
5.If the pasta seems dry, add some of the reserved pasta water to loosen it up. Season with salt and top with grated parmesan cheese before serving.

PROS

This dish comes together in less than 20 minutes and is a great option for busy weeknights.

It uses simple ingredients that you likely already have on hand.

CONS

This dish is fairly basic and may not be the most exciting or flavorful option for those who enjoy complex or spicy flavors.

It also does not offer a lot of protein and may not be filling enough for some people without adding additional protein or veggies.

HEALTH & BENEFITS

This dish provides complex carbohydrates from the whole wheat pasta, heart-healthy monounsaturated fats from the olive oil, and some vitamins and antioxidants from the garlic and tomatoes.
However, it is not a complete meal and additional protein and veggies should be added for a balanced and nutritious dish.
