Pandesal is a popular bread in the Philippines that is often enjoyed for breakfast or as a snack. Its name is derived from the Spanish word 'pan de sal' which means 'bread of salt'. The bread is typically eaten with butter, jam, or dipped in hot coffee or tea. One unique way of eating pandesal in the Philippines is by filling it with different meats, vegetables, and sauces, creating a sandwich-like snack called 'pandesal sandwich'.
