1 baguette , crusty
1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil , fruity
12 ounces tuna , olive-oil-packed
1 garlic clove , minced
1 tomatoes , thinly sliced
1 cucumber , thinly sliced
4 anchovy fillets , to taste ( can be rinsed or marinated in lemon juice to make them milder )
1/4 cup oil-cured black olive , pitted ( these are the wrinkled olives that do n't come packed in brine )
20 basil leaves , fresh

The sandwich is traditionally made with a crusty baguette filled with tuna, fresh veggies, and anchovy fillets, topped with plenty of oil-cured black olives and fresh basil leaves. Instructions

1.Preheat the oven to 375°F.
2.Cut the baguette in half lengthwise and drizzle both halves with the olive oil.
3.Place the tuna and minced garlic on one half of the baguette, spreading it out.
4.Layer the sliced tomatoes and cucumbers on top of the tuna, followed by the anchovy fillets and oil-cured black olives.
5.Add the fresh basil leaves.
6.Top with the other half of the baguette and press down gently.
7.Wrap the sandwich tightly in foil.
8.Bake in the preheated oven for about 15 minutes, until the sandwich is warmed through and the bread is slightly crispy.
9.Remove from the oven, slice into portions, and serve warm.
