Ingredients

1/2 cup split mung dal , presoaked
2 -3 whole black peppercorns
1/2 teaspoon chili powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon turmeric powder
1 cup steamed spinach
1 pinch cumin seed
1 garlic clove , chopped
2 -3 whole dried red chilies
Palak Daal is a traditional Indian dish that has been enjoyed for centuries. Instructions

1.Rinse and drain the soaked lentils.
2.In a pressure cooker, add the lentils, black peppercorns, chili powder, salt, and turmeric along with 3 cups of water. Cook for 3-4 whistles or until the lentils are soft. If using a pot, cook for 30-40 minutes on medium heat.
3.Heat oil in a pan and add cumin seeds. Once they start to sizzle, add the garlic and red chilies and sauté for 30 seconds.
4.Add the steamed spinach and mix it well with the seasoning.
5.Add the cooked lentils to the pan and mix it all together.
6.Cook for 10-12 minutes on medium heat, stirring occasionally.
