3 teaspoons salt
Pain Brie, also called 'crushed' bread, is a traditional French recipe that has been enjoyed for generations. This bread is believed to originate from the Normandy region of France, where it was created as a means of using up excess dough after bread making. Today, it is often served as an accompaniment to meals or used as the base for tartines (open-face sandwiches). Some people drizzle olive oil or add herbs to the dough to give it extra flavor.

Instructions

1.In a large bowl, combine the yeast with 2 cups of warm water. Stir until the yeast is dissolved.
2.Add the flour and salt, then stir until a dough is formed.
3.Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead it for about 10 minutes until it is smooth and elastic.
4.Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover it with a kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm place for about an hour, or until it has doubled in size.
5.Preheat the oven to 425°F.
6.Gently punch down the dough and divide it into two equal pieces. Place each piece on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Using a rolling pin, flatten the dough to a thickness of about 1/4 inch.
7.Bake the bread for about 20 minutes or until golden brown. Let cool on a wire rack before serving.
