Ingredients

800 g ground beef
300 ml heavy cream
milk ( see below )
200 ml dry breadcrumbs
2 eggs
2 egg yolks
1 onion , finely chopped
1 tablespoon butter

75 g butter , at room temperature
3 tablespoons parsley , chopped
1 dash Worcestershire sauce ( optional )

Oxjärpar Med Gräddsås (Swedish Beef Croquettes) are a traditional Swedish dish made of ground beef, seasoned with onion, salt, pepper, and nutmeg, and served with a creamy beef gravy/sauce. The croquettes are oval-shaped and fried until crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. Instructions

1.In a large bowl, mix the ground beef, 300ml of heavy cream, a splash of milk, dry breadcrumbs, 2 eggs and 2 egg yolks together.
2.Add finely chopped onion, salt, pepper, nutmeg and Worcestershire sauce (optional) to the bowl. Mix the ingredients together until thoroughly combined.
3.Grease your hands and form the mixture into oval-shaped patties (oxjärpar) depending on your preferred size.
4.Fry the patties on a pan until golden brown and cooked through. Set them aside.
5.In a saucepan, melt butter, sprinkle in a tablespoon wheat flour, and whisk until combined. Cook it over low heat, stirring constantly, until the mixture becomes brown.
6.Pour in beef stock, soy sauce, and 250ml of heavy cream. Stir until well combined.
7.Boil gently and cook for 10-15 minutes until the sauce thickens.
8.Place the croquettes or oxjärpar into a dish and pour the gravy/sauce over them. Sprinkle with chopped parsley.
9.Enjoy your Oxjärpar Med Gräddsås (Swedish Beef Croquettes) with boiled or mashed potatoes, or steamed vegetables as a perfect main course.
