Kofta kebabs are a popular beef-based dish in Pakistani cuisine. Traditionally, kofta kebabs are made by shaping ground beef into small meatballs and then frying them to perfection. In this recipe, we are using a healthier option by baking the kofta kebabs in the oven without compromising on flavor. The addition of yogurt in the mixture makes the kofta kebabs tender and juicy. The cumin spiced tomato sauce pairs well with the spiced patties. Serve it with naan bread or rice for a complete meal.

Instructions

1.Preheat the oven to 475 degrees F (245 degrees C).
2.Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add onion and cook until softened, 5 to 7 minutes. Combine onion, ground beef, egg, plain yogurt, garlic paste, ginger paste, coriander, 1 1/2 teaspoons salt, and ground red pepper in a bowl.
3.Mix together until well combined. Form mixture into 12 patties. Place patties on a baking sheet.
4.Bake in the preheated oven until browned, about 15 minutes. Flip patties and continue baking until browned on the other side, about 15 minutes.
5.For the sauce, toast cumin seeds in a dry skillet over medium heat until fragrant, about 2 minutes. Add tomato sauce and 1 teaspoon salt; mix well.
6.Cook until sauce has thickened slightly, about 5 minutes. Serve kofta kebabs with sauce.
