The Orange Steamed English Pudding with Rum Butter is a traditional British dessert that has been enjoyed for centuries. It is particularly popular during the colder months due to its comforting and warming flavor. The pudding is made by steaming a mixture of flour, butter, sugar, eggs, orange juice, and citrus zests until cooked through. Once the pudding is ready, it is served with a generous dollop of rum butter that gives it a rich and velvety texture and a rum-infused sweetness. This dessert is perfect for sharing with family and friends after a hearty dinner or special occasion.

Instructions

1.In a large mixing bowl, cream together 1/2 cup softened butter and 1 cup sugar until fluffy.
2.Add in the eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition.

4.Gradually add the flour mixture to the butter and egg mixture alternating with the orange juice until everything is well combined.

7.Place the pudding basin into a large saucepan or pot and fill with water until it comes halfway up the sides of the pudding basin.
8.Bring the water to a boil, then turn down to a simmer and steam the pudding for 2 1/2 to 3 hours, topping up the water regularly.
