1 orange , zest of , finely grated
250 g good quality mincemeat , preferably home-made
50 g cold butter
50 g plain flour

These orange and almond crumble Christmas mince pies are a delightful twist on the traditional mince pie. Instructions

1.Preheat the oven to 200ºC/400ºF/gas 6.
2.In a large bowl, rub the butter and flour together until the mixture resembles breadcrumbs.
3.Stir through the brown sugar and orange zest.
4.Divide the mincemeat between the pastry cases.
5.In a separate bowl, rub together the butter, flour, sugar and almonds until the mixture resembles breadcrumbs.
6.Sprinkle the crumble on top of the mincemeat.
7.Bake for 12 to 15 minutes, then dust with icing sugar.
