Open Apple Cake, also known as Herregaardsaeblekage in Denmark, is a traditional Danish dessert that is perfect for any occasion. Instructions

1.In a large bowl, mix flour and salt together. Cut in butter until small crumbles form.

3.Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Peel and thinly slice apples and mix with 75g sugar, raisins, and 25g chopped almonds.
4.Roll dough into a 12-inch (30cm) circle and place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Arrange apple slices in a circular pattern, leaving a 2-inch (5cm) border. Fold the edges over the apples.
5.Melt 75g butter and 75g sugar in a small saucepan. Add 25g chopped almonds and drizzle over the top of the apples.
6.Bake for 40-45 minutes or until golden brown. Serve with whipped cream.
