Ingredients

450 g caster sugar
600 ml water
1 lemon , cut into two halves
10 large lemon verbena leaves
10 large lemon balm leaves
1/4 teaspoon tartaric or 1/4 teaspoon citric acid

Instructions

1.In a medium saucepan, combine the caster sugar, water, and lemon halves.
2.Bring to a boil, stirring occasionally until the sugar dissolves completely.
3.Remove from heat and add lemon verbena leaves, lemon balm leaves, and tartaric acid.
4.Let it sit for 1 hour to infuse.
5.Strain the mixture and transfer to a glass jar.
6.Store it in the refrigerator for up to a month.
7.To make Lemonade:
8.Mix 1 part syrup to 3 parts water or sparkling water.
