1 lb boneless beef chuck roast , cooked till tender and shredded

Instructions

1.Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
2.Sift together flour, baking soda, and salt then cut in butter until the mixture starts looking like coarse crumbs.
3.In a small bowl, beat egg with water and mix into flour mixture until everything comes together and forms a dough.
4.Roll out dough on a floured surface and use to line a 9-inch (23 cm) pie dish. Reserve the leftover dough for the top crust.
5.Arrange the cooked beef and potatoes in the pie dish.
6.Roll out the leftover dough and use to make the top crust.
7.Fold the edge of the top crust under the edge of the bottom crust, sealing the pie.
8.Cut slits into the top crust to allow steam to escape.
9.Brush the top crust with an egg wash (made by beating an egg with water) and sprinkle with salt.
10.Bake in the oven for 35-40 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown.
