Ingredients

250 g butter or 250 g margarine
2/3 cup sugar
2 cups flour
2 cups coconut
2 cups oats
2 tablespoons golden syrup
2 tablespoons boiling water
1 teaspoon bicarbonate of soda
1/2 cup pecan nuts , chopped
1 cup chocolate , nibs or 1 cup chocolate chips

Instructions

1.Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
2.Cream together the butter and sugar until combined.
3.Add in the flour, coconut and oats and mix until well combined.
4.Dissolve the golden syrup in boiling water then add in the bicarbonate of soda and stir.
5.Add into the mixture.
6.Stir in the pecan nuts and chocolate nibs or chips.
7.Press the mixture lightly into a greased 20cm x 30cm baking tin.
8.Bake for 18-20 minutes until golden brown.
9.Cut into squares before it cools down.
10.Serve and enjoy!
