Ingredients

1 package frozen puff pastry
3/4 cup nutella or 3/4 cup other hazelnut chocolate spread
1/2 cup chopped hazelnuts ( optional )
1 egg
granulated sugar

Instructions

1.Preheat the oven to 200 C ( 400 F ) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
2.Roll out the thawed puff pastry on a lightly floured surface into a rectangle.
3.Use a pastry cutter to cut out 8-10 squares, depending on the size you desire.
4.Spoon 1 tablespoon of Nutella onto one half of each square and sprinkle with chopped hazelnuts (if desired).
5.In a small bowl, whisk the egg and brush the edges of the puff pastry with it.
6.Fold the pastry in half and seal the edges with a fork.
7.Brush the tops of the pastry puffs with the egg and sprinkle with granulated sugar.
8.Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown and puffed.
9.Serve warm or at room temperature.
