Ingredients

4 tablespoons butter
1 medium onion , chopped
4 garlic cloves , minced
1 cup long grain white rice
2 cups chicken stock or 2 cups broth
salt
1/2 cup grated cheese like parmesan cheese , but do n't be afraid , gruyere , manchego , all cheese is worthy of worship
No Zee French Rice Pilaf is a French-inspired rice dish that is easy to make and delicious to eat. It is creamy and flavorful, thanks to the added cheese, but is also healthy, thanks to the vitamins and minerals in white rice. This versatile dish can be enjoyed as a side to chicken, steak or fish or can be eaten on its own as a hearty main dish. The rice is cooked in chicken broth and mixed with sautéed onions, garlic, butter, and grated cheese, which is then simmered until all the liquid is absorbed and the rice is tender and ready to eat.

Instructions

1.Rinse the rice with cold water and drain.
2.Melt 3 tablespoons of butter in a large saucepan over medium heat.
3.Add the onion and garlic and sauté until tender, about 5 minutes.
4.Add the rice and stir to coat with the butter and onions.
5.Pour in the chicken stock or broth and add a pinch of salt.
6.Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low and cover the pot. Simmer for 20-25 minutes, or until the rice is cooked and most of the liquid has been absorbed.
7.Remove from heat and stir in remaining butter and grated cheese.
8.Let the dish rest for 10 minutes before serving.
