3 tablespoons sambuca romana
2 tablespoons freshly-squeezed lemon juice
1/4 cup finely minced fresh basil ( NOT DRY )
1 cup sugar
1 cup water
basil sprig
lemon peel , curls

Instructions

1.Combine the strawberries, simple syrup, sambuca and lemon juice in a blender or food processor and blend until smooth.
2.Add basil to the blender and blend for an additional 15-20 seconds.
3.Pour the mixture into a shallow, metal baking dish and freeze for 1-2 hours or until partially frozen.
4.Remove from freezer, and use a fork to mix up the frozen edges.
5.Freeze for another hour, then mix again with a fork.
6.Freeze for another hour or until fully frozen.
7.Scoop into a bowl or wine glass and garnish with a basil sprig, lemon peel, and sambuca.
