500 g ground lamb

500 ml beef stock
900 g potatoes , cut into chunks
85 g butter
3 tablespoons milk

Instructions

1.Preheat the oven to 200C/180C Fan/Gas 6.
2.Add the sunflower oil to a large frying pan and heat over medium heat.
3.Add the chopped onion and carrots to the frying pan and cook for 5 minutes until they have softened.
4.Add the ground lamb to the pan and cook, stirring frequently, until browned.
5.Add the tomato puree, Worcestershire sauce, and beef stock to the pan and stir well.
6.Reduce the heat to low and allow the mixture to simmer for 15-20 minutes until the liquid has reduced.
7.Meanwhile, add the potatoes to a large pot of boiling water and cook until soft.
8.Drain the potatoes and return them to the pot.
9.Add the butter and milk to the pot and mash the potatoes until smooth.
10.Transfer the lamb mixture to a large ovenproof dish.
11.Spoon the mashed potatoes over the top of the lamb mixture, smoothing it out evenly with a fork.
12.Place the dish in the preheated oven and bake for 25-30 minutes until the potato topping is golden and crispy on top.
