Instructions

1.Preheat the oven to 200°C/ 180°C (fan)/ 400°F/ Gas 6.
2.In a non-stick frying pan over medium heat, cook the beef with 1 teaspoon of salt until brown and crumbly.
3.Add in the sliced onions, brown sugar, balsamic vinegar, crushed garlic, dried tarragon, and dried basil. Mix well.
4.Let it cook until the onions caramelize and the beef is cooked through.
5.In a separate bowl, mash the goat cheese and fresh chives together. Set aside.
6.Roll out 2 sheets of pastry dough and cut into 4 equal pieces each.
7.On each square, sprinkle a small amount of goat cheese mixture, then add a spoonful of beef and onion mixture on top.
