Ingredients

1 cup black lentils
1 cup moong lentils
2 eggs , beaten
1/2 lb lean ground chicken ( Lamb or pork can also be used . Minced vegetables are used for vegetarian cooking )
1 tablespoon garlic , minced
1 tablespoon ginger , minced
3 green chilies , minced
1/2 teaspoon turmeric
1/4 teaspoon asafoetida powder
salt and pepper
2 tablespoons oil ( for mixture )
1/2 cup oil ( for cooking )

Instructions

1.Soak both types of lentils (black and moong) overnight in sufficient water.
2.Drain off the water and blend the lentils in a mixer with ginger, garlic, and green chilies.
3.Add ground chicken, turmeric, asafoetida, salt, pepper, and oil. Mix well.
4.Heat oil in a non-stick pan over medium heat.
5.Using a ladle, pour mixture into the pan to make small pancakes.
6.Cook until the edges turn golden brown, then flip and cook the other side until done.
7.Serve with your favorite chutney or dip.
