Ingredients

1 kg mutton
1 kg chicken
2 cups plain low-fat yogurt , beaten
6 tablespoons green masala ( ginger , garlic and green chilli paste )
1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
7 onions , finely chopped
4 cups basmati rice
1/2 cup frozen green pea
1 teaspoon coriander
1 teaspoon cumin powder
1/2 teaspoon garam masala powder
salt
oil or ghee
Nawabi Pulao, also known as The Royal Pilaf, is a dish that originated in Lucknow, India. Instructions

1.In a large pot, heat the oil or ghee and sauté the chopped onions until soft and golden.
2.Add the mutton and chicken pieces and cook until the meat is browned.
3.Add the green masala paste, turmeric powder, coriander powder, and cumin powder, and cook for about 5 minutes.
4.Add the beaten yogurt and salt, and stir well. Cover the pot and let it cook on low heat for about 30 minutes, or until the meat is tender.
5.In a separate pot, boil 8 cups of water and add the rice. Cook the rice until it is 70% done and then drain the water.
6.Carefully layer the cooked rice on top of the cooked meat, making sure to sprinkle the garam masala and frozen green peas between each layer.
7.Cover the pot and cook on low heat for another 30 minutes, or until the rice is fully cooked.
