1 tablespoon sugar
1 tablespoon salt
2 tablespoons yeast
2 1/2 cups warm water
6 cups flour

Instructions

1.In a large mixing bowl, dissolve sugar, salt, and yeast in warm water and let stand for 5 minutes until yeasty bubbles form on the surface.
2.Add in the flour, a cup at a time, stirring until a soft dough forms. You might not need all the flour.
3.Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead for 10 minutes.
4.Place the dough into a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let rise in a warm place for 30 minutes.
5.Punch down the dough and divide it into two. Roll each half out into a rectangle shape. Roll up the rectangle tightly with each roll but allowing the ends to curl under.
6.Place the loaves onto a greased baking sheet, cover with a damp cloth again, and let rise for another 15 minutes. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F.
7.Brush the loaves with beaten egg white and make three diagonal slashes across the top of each bread with a sharp knife.
8.Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown, and the bread sounds hollow when tapped on the bottom.
