Ingredients

3 tablespoons paprika
1 tablespoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
1/2 teaspoon salt
6 1/2 pounds pork ribs
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
3 cups water
3/4 cup ketchup
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup Chinese vinegar
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
These pressure cooker Chinese ribs are one of my most popular recipes! They are incredibly easy to make and come out perfectly every time. The ribs are first coated in a spice rub and then seared in the pressure cooker to seal in the juices. Next, a sweet and tangy sauce is added to the pressure cooker, and the ribs cook until perfectly tender. The result is fall-off-the-bone ribs that are bursting with flavor. I love to serve these ribs with a side of steamed vegetables and some rice, but they would also be delicious with mashed potatoes or a salad.

Instructions

1.In a small bowl, mix paprika, garlic powder, black pepper, and salt together. Spread the mixture generously over both sides of the pork ribs.
2.Heat vegetable oil in a pressure cooker over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the pork ribs and sear them until browned on both sides.
3.Add water, ketchup, brown sugar, Chinese vinegar, and Worcestershire sauce to the pressure cooker. Lock the lid and cook on high pressure for 45 minutes.
4.Allow the pressure to release naturally. Carefully remove the ribs from the pressure cooker and let them rest for a few minutes before serving.
5.Optional: If desired, transfer the remaining sauce from the pressure cooker to a small saucepan and cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens.
6.Serve the ribs with the sauce on the side or drizzled over the top.

They require very little prep time and can be cooked quickly in the pressure cooker, making them a great option for busy weeknights.

CONS

Using a pressure cooker can be dangerous if not used properly.
Always read the instruction manual and follow the recommended safety precautions.

Additionally, these ribs are high in sodium and may not be suitable for those on a low-sodium diet.

HEALTH & BENEFITS

While these pressure cooker Chinese ribs are not low in fat or calories, they are a good source of protein.
Pork ribs contain vitamins and minerals such as iron, zinc, and vitamin B12, which are important for energy production and immune function.
