Ingredients

1 1/2 lbs stewing beef
1/2 cup flour ( to dust beef with , you probably wo n't use all of it but what ever is extra just falls off ( and flour )
6 cups water
2 cans tomato soup
1 onion , diced
3 stalks celery , diced
3 carrots , sliced diagonally
3 potatoes , cubed
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce or 1/4 cup dry red wine
1 bay leaf
1/4 teaspoon ground pepper

Instructions

1.Preheat oven to 375°F.

5.Add the water, tomato soup, onion, celery, carrots, potatoes, Worcestershire sauce, bay leaf, and ground pepper to the pot.
6.Bring to a boil.
7.Cover the pot with a lid and transfer it to the oven.
8.Cook for 2 to 2 1/2 hours, or until the meat is tender.
9.Remove the bay leaf.
10.Season with salt and pepper to taste.
11.Serve hot.
