Who doesn't like meatballs? Meatballs are a classic dish that originated in Italy. They are made with ground beef, mixed with herbs and spices, and usually served with tomato sauce or gravy. My Italian friend's meatballs recipe is a traditional Italian recipe, passed down through generations. It is a comfort food that is perfect for a cozy dinner with family or friends. These meatballs are juicy and flavorful and compliment any pasta dish or can be served as a stand-alone item.

Instructions

1.Peel the potato and grate it.
2.Place the ground beef in a large bowl and add grated potato, garlic powder, salt and pepper, and egg. Mix everything together.
3.Add the parmesan cheese and mix once more.
4.Form the mixture into medium-sized meatballs, using approx. 1.5-2 tablespoons of the mixture for each meatball.
5.Heat a large pan over medium-high heat. Add the meatballs and cook for approx. 6-8 minutes per side, or until cooked through.

PROS

These meatballs are easy to make, hearty, and filling.
Ideal for a comforting meal.

They can be stored in the fridge and eaten for leftovers too.

CONS

Beef is known to be high in calories and saturated fats, however, a leaner meat can be used instead of beef, if concerned.

Also, the recipe requires a lot of preparation and cook time.

HEALTH & BENEFITS

Beef is an excellent source of protein, iron, and Vitamin B12 that helps maintain healthy blood and nerve cells.
Potatoes are high in fiber and nutrients, and are a good source of Vitamin C, Vitamin B6, and Potassium.
