Ingredients

300 g mutton , pieces
1 1/2 cups basmati rice , washed and soaked in water
1 large onion , sliced
1 large tomatoes , peeled and chopped
1 large potato , quartered and fried
4 cloves
1 inch cinnamon
3 teaspoons garlic paste
3 teaspoons ginger paste
2 tablespoons coriander , paste
1 tablespoon fennel seed , powdered
1 teaspoon red chili powder
1 teaspoon cumin powder
1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
1/4 cup oil
salt
1 tablespoon yoghurt
Mutton Pilaf is a traditional dish of Indian origin with rice as the main ingredient. Meat and spices give it a distinct flavor and aroma. Instructions

1.Heat the oil in a pan and add cloves and cinnamon, fry until the aroma comes out.
2.Put sliced onions and fry till it becomes golden brown
3.Add ginger and garlic paste cook till raw smell goes away
4.Add chopped tomatoes and cook until all the water dries up
5.Add mutton and fry it in the mixture.
6.Add salt, chilli powder, cumin powder, coriander paste, fennel powder and turmeric powder, cover and cook until the mutton is half-cooked.
7.Add fried potatoes and mix them all together.
8.Put soaked rice and water into the mixture carefully without breaking the rice.
9.Add salt to the rice and mix it well.
10.Cook on high flame until water comes to a boil, reduce to low flame and cook until the water dries up.
11.In a separate bowl mix yoghurt and some water and put it on top of the pilaf.
12.Cover and simmer till the rice are done.
