Ingredients

4 tablespoons olive oil , divided
1 1/4 cups raw walnut halves
1/3 cup fresh breadcrumbs
1 cup fire-roasted red bell peppers - peeled , seeded , coarsely chopped
2 garlic cloves , crushed
2 tablespoons lemon juice
2 teaspoons pomegranate molasses
1 teaspoon salt , plus more if needed
1 teaspoon paprika
1 teaspoon Aleppo pepper flakes or other red pepper flakes , plus a pinch or so for garnish
1/2 teaspoon cumin
1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1 tablespoon chopped Italian parsley for garnish

Instructions

1.Preheat your oven to 350°F.
2.Drizzle 2 tablespoons of olive oil over the walnuts, tossing to coat them.

5.Pulse the mixture until it is evenly combined.
6.Continue to pulse the mixture while adding the remaining 2 tablespoons of olive oil.
7.Taste and adjust the seasoning with additional salt if needed.
8.Transfer the Muhammara to a serving bowl and garnish with the chopped Italian parsley and a sprinkle of Aleppo pepper flakes on top.
9.Serve with pita bread, crackers, or vegetable sticks.
