Ingredients

1/2 - 3/4 cup finely chopped celery
1/4 green olives
3/4 black olives
1 - 1 1/2 lb ham
1 lb pastrami
1 lb large salami
1 lb turkey
1 pepperoni
1 Italian sausage , fried
1 lb sliced provolone cheese
1 lb sliced mozzarella cheese
parmesan cheese ( optional )
Muffuletta is a popular sandwich traditionally made by the Sicilian immigrants in New Orleans. It is a layered sandwich that differs from the typical American sandwich, with a bread much fluffier and easier to digest. It is a filling sandwich that arrives with this olive and celery mix, which adds a flavorful taste to the sandwich making it a diverse meal for people.

Instructions

1.Combine celery, green olives, and black olives, mix well and set aside.
2.Cut the muffuletta bread into a pie-like slice, and keep the top slice aside.
3.Brush the remaining oil from the olive jar over the bottom slice of bread.
4.Layer the ham, pastrami, salami, turkey, pepperoni, and Italian sausage, ensuring every meat is spread evenly.
5.Spread the celery and olive mixture you prepared earlier over the meats and top with slices of provolone and mozzarella cheeses.
6.Cover with the top slice of bread and press down firmly.
7.Wrap the sandwich in cling wrap and place in the fridge with a heavy object on top for at least 1-2 hours to set.
8.Cut across the sandwich to serve and sprinkle some Parmesan cheese on the top (optional)

PROS

Muffuletta is a delicious and simple sandwich that you can prepare in advance and enjoy cold while on the go.
