2 cups white sugar
1/2 cup corn syrup
1 teaspoon vanilla

Instructions

1.Grease a 9x13 inch pan with butter and set aside.

4.Increase heat to medium-high and bring mixture to a boil.
5.Insert a candy thermometer into mixture and reduce heat to low.
6.Cook the mixture, without stirring, until it reaches the soft ball stage (234-240°F).
7.Remove from heat and add in the vanilla.
8.Allow mixture to cool for 5-10 minutes, then beat fudge vigorously with a wooden spoon until it thickens and loses its shine, about 7-10 minutes.
9.Quickly pour fudge into prepared pan. Let cool completely before cutting.
10.Cut into squares and serve.
