Ingredients

6 tablespoons dark soy sauce
6 tablespoons oyster sauce ( Lee Kum Chee is the best brand . I buy mine in bulk at an oriental market )
4 tablespoons orange juice
2 tablespoons sesame oil
2 tablespoons cooking sherry
2 tablespoons pancake syrup ( while it may seem bizarre , this is the most important ingredient . The syrup caramelizes as the chick )
1 tablespoon of minced garlic
8 chicken drumsticks

Instructions

1.In a bowl, mix the dark soy sauce, oyster sauce, orange juice, sesame oil, cooking sherry, pancake syrup, and garlic.
2.Add the drumsticks to the bowl and coat them with the marinade.
3.Let the chicken marinate for at least 30 minutes, but up to 24 hours in the fridge.
4.Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
5.Place the chicken drumsticks on a baking sheet, and bake them for 25-30 minutes.
6.Turn them over halfway through cooking and baste them with the marinade.
7.Serve hot and enjoy!
