Moussakas is a popular dish in Greek households and can be found in many Greek restaurants around the world. It's a great comfort food that's perfect for cold winter nights.

Instructions

1.Preheat your oven to 180°C.
2.Slice the potatoes, zucchini and eggplant and fry them in hot oil until lightly browned. Set the vegetables aside.
3.In the same pan, cook the minced meat until browned. Add in the onions and continue cooking for a few more minutes.
4.Pour in the red wine to deglaze the pan. Add tomato paste, salt, pepper and cinnamon and simmer until the sauce thickens.
5.To make the bechamel sauce, melt butter in a saucepan. Add flour and stir to form a roux. Gradually add the milk, whisking constantly to prevent lumps. Cook for a few more minutes and remove from heat.
6.In a greased baking dish, layer the potatoes, zucchini and eggplant. Pour the meat sauce over the vegetables. Then, pour the bechamel sauce over the meat layer. Sprinkle shredded cheese on top and bread crumbs if desired.
7.Bake in the preheated oven for around 40-45 minutes or until the cheese is golden brown. Let it cool down for a few minutes before serving.
