Ingredients

1 1/2 lbs ground beef
2 large onions , finely diced
2 garlic cloves , minced
1/2 cup red wine
1/4 cup fresh parsley , chopped
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1 cup tomato puree ( or crushed tomatoes )
2 tablespoons tomato paste
1 teaspoon sugar
salt and pepper

Instructions

1.In a large skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat for about 5 minutes.
2.Add the onions to the skillet, and cook until they are soft and translucent, about 7 minutes.
3.Add the garlic to the skillet and cook for 1 minute.
4.Stir in the red wine, parsley, cinnamon, allspice, tomato puree, tomato paste, sugar, salt, and pepper.
5.Reduce the heat to low and simmer for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce has thickened.
6.Serve the Moussaka Inspired Sloppy Joe on a bun with your favourite toppings such as cheese, lettuce or pickles etc.
