Ingredients

1 1/2 cups bengal gram flour ( besan )
1 1/2 tablespoons semolina ( rawa )
250 g sugar
1 tablespoon milk
2 -3 drops saffron food coloring
2 tablespoons almonds , chopped
2 tablespoons pistachios , chopped
1 teaspoon cardamom powder ( elaichi )
2 teaspoons rose water
ghee , for deep-frying
edible edible silver foil , for garnishing ( optional )

Instructions

1.In a mixing bowl, combine besan and rawa.
2.Gradually add water while stirring to make a batter without any lumps.
3.Heat ghee in a pan and using a ladle, drop the batter into the oil and deep fry on medium heat until golden brown.
4.Remove and drain on a tissue paper.
5.In a separate pan, add sugar and 1/2 cup of water and stir.
6.Add saffron food coloring, cardamom powder, and rose water and boil until the syrup thickens.
7.Add the fried batter into the syrup and mix well.
8.Add chopped almonds and pistachios and mix well.
9.Grease your hands with ghee and make small balls out of the mixture.
10.Garnish with edible silver foil if desired.
