Ingredients

2 lbs pork belly
2 medium yellow onions , diced
4 small yellow onions , peeled and quartered
4 garlic cloves , minced
1 1/2 inches fresh ginger , minced
1/2 cup dried mushroom ( optional )
2 cups chicken stock
1 1/2 tablespoons ras el hanout spice mix
1 pinch saffron
1 teaspoon honey
salt
1 tablespoon argan oil ( this is very expensive and hard to find , you can use any other oil you like but if you can get your )
200 ml strained yoghurt ( I use Fage 2 % )
1/2 cup strained tomatoes
1 cup white wine ( or light red if you have that on hand ) ( optional )

Instructions

1.In a large slow cooker, add the pork belly, diced onions, quartered onions, minced garlic, minced ginger, dried mushrooms, chicken stock, ras el hanout spice mix, saffron, honey, and salt. Mix everything well.
2.Pour the argan oil over the pork belly, rub it in well.
3.Cover and slow cook on low for 8 hours or on high for 5 hours.
4.Mix the strained yoghurt and strained tomatoes together in a bowl. Pour over the pork belly and mix everything well.
5.Optional: add white wine for flavor, stir everything again and continue cooking for another 30 minutes until the wine is fully incorporated.
6.Serve and enjoy!
