Ingredients

1 package yeast
2 tablespoons sugar
1 3/4 cups water
5 cups flour
1 tablespoon salt
1 tablespoon anise seed
1 tablespoon sesame seeds
Pan de Casa is a traditional Moroccan bread made with simple ingredients and baked on a hot stone. Instructions

1.In a small bowl, mix yeast, sugar and 1/4 cup warm water together. Stir well and set aside for about 5 minutes.
2.In a large bowl, mix flour, salt, anise seed and sesame seeds together.
3.Slowly add the yeast mixture and the remaining water to the dry ingredients. Mix well until a dough has formed.
4.Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until it is smooth and elastic.
5.Return the dough to the bowl, cover with a damp towel and let it rise for about 1 hour in a warm place until it has doubled in size.
6.Preheat oven to 425°F. Place a baking stone in the oven to heat it up.
7.Divide the dough into 2-4 pieces and shape into flat rounds.
8.Once the baking stone is hot, place the dough rounds on the stone and bake for about 15-20 minutes until they are golden brown.
9.Remove from the oven, let cool for a few minutes and serve warm.

This bread takes time to rise and requires kneading which can be time-consuming.
