Ingredients

2 teaspoons yeast
1/4 cup lukewarm water
1/4 cup sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1 egg
1/4 cup shortening
4 cups flour
1/2 cup butter
3/4 cup sugar
1 tablespoon cinnamon

Instructions

1.Dissolve yeast in lukewarm water.
2.Add sugar, salt, beaten egg, shortening and 2 cups flour; beat well.
3.Add remaining flour, beating well with spoon.
4.Turn dough onto lightly floured board; knead until smooth and elastic, about 8-10 minutes.
5.Place in greased bowl, turning to grease top.
6.Cover; let rise in warm place until double (1 1/2 to 2 hours).
7.Punch down dough; pinch off small pieces and roll into balls.
8.Melt butter.
9.Mix sugar and cinnamon.
10.Dip balls into melted butter then into sugar/cinnamon mixture.
11.Layer in a greased Bundt pan.
12.Cover and let rise in warm place until double (about 1 hour).
13.Bake at 350 degrees for 30-35 minutes.
14.Cool 5-10 minutes.
15.Remove from pan on plate or aluminum foil lined serving dish; pull apart to serve.

PROS

Monkey Bread New Hungarian Rolls tastes too yummy when served hot and right out of the oven.
