2 small onions , chopped
1 tablespoon butter or 1 tablespoon oil
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1 -2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper ( to taste )
1 -2 tablespoon paprika
2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon salt

1 large egg , beaten

Instructions

3.In a bowl, mix flour, salt, black pepper, and paprika. Add beaten egg and enough water to form a thick dough.
4.Knead the dough for a few minutes, then roll it out to 1/8 inch thickness on a floured surface. Cut into strips with a knife or pizza cutter.
5.Bring the chicken broth to a boil. Drop the dumplings into the boiled broth, one at a time, stirring constantly.
6.Reduce heat to medium-low, chop or shred the chicken, and add it back to the pot. Cover and cook for an additional 30 minutes. Serve hot.
