Ingredients

1 cup dried garbanzo beans
1/2 peeled and split dried fava beans
1 chopped onion
1 diced green pepper
1/4 cup chopped parsley
2 teaspoons garlic powder
2 teaspoons ground cumin
1 teaspoon ground coriander

1/4 teaspoon black pepper
canola oil ( for frying )
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
6 pita breads , warmed
alfalfa sprout
tomatoes
1/2 cup tahini
1/4 cup Greek yogurt
1/4 cup water
1 lemon , juice of
2 garlic cloves
1 pinch sea salt
Falafel is a popular Middle Eastern food served as a snack or meal. It is made from chickpeas or fava beans or both, which are mashed with herbs and spices, shaped into balls or patties, and fried until crispy. In this recipe, Moishe's Falafel is presented with a drizzle of tahini sauce, sliced tomatoes, and alfalfa sprouts, giving it a refreshing taste. Instructions

1.Soak the garbanzo and fava beans overnight in plenty of water.
2.Drain the beans and mix them in a food processor, along with the onion, parsley, green pepper, garlic powder, cumin, coriander, salt and pepper until a smooth mixture is formed.
3.Shape spoonfuls of the mixture into small balls or patties. Add the baking powder to the mixture to make the falafel airy and fluffy.
4.Heat the canola oil in a deep frying pan and fry the falafel until golden brown.
5.Drain the excess oil from the falafel on a paper towel.
6.Warm the pita breads and stuff them with falafel balls, alfalfa sprouts, and sliced tomatoes. Top with a drizzle of tahini sauce.
