Ingredients

2 cans beef consomme
1 cup Burgundy wine or 1 cup water
2 packages unflavored gelatin
4 -5 tablespoons lemon juice ( juice of 2 lemons )
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce ( or to taste )
1/2 teaspoon hot sauce ( or to taste )
1 shallot , sliced thin
1 garlic clove , finely chopped
1 pinch dried thyme
10 ounces liverwurst ( liver sausage )
cracker , to serve

Instructions

1.Pour 1/4 cup of beef consomme into a small saucepan and sprinkle the gelatin on top.

3.Add the remaining beef consomme, wine or water, hot sauce, Worcestershire sauce, lemon juice, shallots, garlic, and thyme into the saucepan.
4.Bring the mixture to a boil and stir to combine.
5.Lower the heat and let the mixture simmer for 10-15 mins.
6.Strain the mixture and reserve the liquid, leaving out the solids.
7.Loosely pack the liverwurst into a 2-cup mold and pour the liquid over it.
8.Chill the Appitizer for at least 4 hours, or until firm.
9.Once it is firm, unmold the Appitizer onto a serving plate and serve with crackers.
