1/2 cup pearl barley
1/2 cup oats
1/2 cup raisins
1/2 cup chopped dates
1/3 cup packed brown sugar
1 -3 tablespoon butter
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
honey ( optional )

Instructions

1.Rinse wild rice and add to a pot with 4 cups of water. Bring to a boil, reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 45 minutes.
2.In another pot, bring 4 cups of water to a boil. Add pearl barley, reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 30 minutes.
3.Combine cooked wild rice and barley in a large pot. Add oats, raisins, dates, brown sugar, butter, and cinnamon. Mix well.
4.Cook mixture over medium heat for 15 minutes or until cereal has reached desired consistency.
5.Serve hot with milk and top with honey, if desired.
