Mini Orange Mince Pies are a traditional British pastry dish that's often enjoyed as part of the Christmas festivities. These bite-sized pies are filled with a sweet mincemeat filling and spiced with cinnamon to give them a great festive flavor. The addition of orange zest adds a hint of citrusy freshness to the dish, balancing out the richness of the mincemeat filling. Mini orange mince pies are perfect for sharing with loved ones, especially during the cooler months when you're looking for something warm and festive to enjoy together.

Instructions

.Preheat the oven to 400°F. Grease a 12-cup mini muffin tin.
.In a medium bowl, mix together the flour, sugar, and cinnamon. Rub in the butter until the mixture resembles breadcrumbs.
.Stir in the orange zest and enough ice water to bind the dough. Knead gently to form a smooth dough.
.Roll out the dough on a lightly floured surface and use a 3-inch pastry cutter to cut out rounds.
.Press each round into a muffin cup and spoon a dollop of mincemeat into each one.
.Roll out the remaining dough and use a star-shaped pastry cutter to cut out stars.
.Place a star on top of each mincemeat-filled cup and brush with beaten egg.
.Bake for 12-15 minutes or until golden. Cool on a wire rack and dust with confectioners' sugar before serving.
