Ingredients

1 lb tomatillo ( fresh )
2 -3 jalapeno peppers
1 -2 garlic clove
1/2 onion
6 -8 sprigs fresh cilantro
1 teaspoon salt ( to taste )
This Mexicana Salsa Verde recipe is a traditional sauce from Mexico made from roasted tomatillos, garlic, jalapeno peppers, onion, and coriander. It is a staple sauce in the Mexican cuisine and can be served as a dip for chips, tacos, nachos, burritos, quesadillas, or as a marinade for meat. This vibrant green sauce is a quick and easy way to enhance the flavor of your meals and give them a spicy kick. You can easily adjust the spiciness by adding more or less jalapeno peppers.

Instructions

1.Rinse tomatillos and jalapeno peppers.
2.Slice the tomatillos and jalapeno peppers in half, and remove the stems and seeds.
3.Peel garlic cloves and onion, and roughly chop them.
4.Preheat oven to 400°F, and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
5.Spread the tomatillos, jalapeno peppers, garlic, and onion on the lined baking sheet.
6.Place in the oven and roast for 20-25 minutes or until the edges of vegetables turn golden brown.
7.Transfer the roasted vegetables to a blender, add fresh cilantro and salt.
8.Blend until it reaches your desired consistency. Serve immediately or chill it in the refrigerator.
