Ingredients

1 1/3 lbs ground beef
1 small onion , chopped
8 ounces tomato sauce
6 ounces tomato paste ( fill cans 3 times with water )
10 ounces diced tomatoes with green chilies
1 teaspoon chili powder
1 teaspoon oregano
1 teaspoon cumin
1 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons sugar
2 cloves garlic , chopped
1 cup cooked rice ( I use Minute Rice )

Instructions

1.In a large skillet, cook the ground beef and chopped onion over medium-high heat until the beef is browned and the onion is tender.
2.Drain any excess grease from the skillet.
3.Stir in the tomato sauce, tomato paste and water, diced tomatoes with green chilies, chili powder, oregano, cumin, salt, sugar, and chopped garlic.
4.Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat and let it simmer for 10-15 minutes.
5.Serve the Mexican Build-Up over a bed of cooked rice.
