1 lb Italian sausage , crumbled
1 cup yellow onion , diced

8 ounces mushrooms , drained ( pieces & stems or sliced )
14 ounces red pasta sauce
14 1/2 ounces stewed tomatoes , with liquid
2 teaspoons fresh rosemary , chopped fine
2 teaspoons sea salt ( more or less to taste )
2 teaspoons black pepper ( more or less to taste )
1 teaspoon sugar ( more or less to taste )
2 tablespoons red wine

Instructions

1.Brown the sausage in a large pot, breaking it up with a wooden spoon as it cooks.
2.Add the onion, and continue to cook for an additional 5 minutes or until the onion is translucent.
3.Stir in the parsley and mushrooms, and cook for 2-3 minutes until the mushrooms are tender.
4.Pour in the pasta sauce, stewed tomatoes, and red wine, and stir well.
5.Add the rosemary, salt, black pepper, and sugar, and bring the mixture to a simmer.
6.Cover the pot and let the sauce simmer for at least 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
