Ingredients

1 lb ground extra-lean beef
1 lb ground extra-lean pork
5 crackers , saltine ( or 1 packet Medifast Multi-Grain Crackers )
1 1/2 tablespoons egg substitute ( or 1 egg )
1 tablespoon fresh rosemary
2 teaspoons minced fresh garlic cloves
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1/4 teaspoon thyme
1 tomatoes , sliced ( or 1 can tomatoes , reduced-sodium , sugar free , diced or crushed )
German Meat Loaf (Hackbraten) is a traditional German dish that has become popular in many other countries. Instructions

1.Preheat oven to 350°F/175°C.
2.In a large bowl, mix together the ground beef, ground pork, and crushed saltine crackers.
3.Add in the egg substitute, rosemary, garlic, black pepper, nutmeg, cayenne pepper, and thyme, mixing until well combined.
4.Press the meat mixture into a 9 x 5 inch loaf pan.
5.Top with sliced tomato.
6.Bake for 1 hour.
