Ingredients

1 head cabbage
1 lb cottage cheese
2 cups mozzarella cheese , grated
1 egg , beaten
1/4 cup parmesan cheese

1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon oregano
1/4 cup onion , grated
1/8 teaspoon pepper
1/2 teaspoon garlic salt
1 jar spaghetti sauce
Italian cabbage rolls are a classic dish that typically contain ground beef, rice, and tomato sauce. However, this meatless version of the recipe is a healthier twist on the original. The meat is replaced with a blend of cottage cheese and mozzarella cheese, which gives the rolls a creamy, cheesy flavor. Additionally, the use of cabbage instead of traditional pasta or rice makes this recipe lower in carbs and higher in fiber. Overall, this recipe is a tasty and healthy choice for a meatless meal.

Instructions

1.Fill a large pot with water and bring to a boil. Meanwhile, remove the core from the cabbage and carefully peel off the leaves, trying to keep them as whole as possible.
2.Blanch the cabbage leaves in the boiling water for about 2-3 minutes, or until flexible and easy to roll.
3.In a bowl, mix together the cottage cheese, mozzarella cheese, egg, parmesan cheese, parsley, salt, oregano, onion, pepper, and garlic salt.
4.Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
5.Grease a baking dish with non-stick spray.
6.Place about 1/3 cup of the cheese mixture onto each cabbage leaf and roll it up tightly, tucking in the sides as you go.
7.Place the cabbage rolls seam-side down in the prepared baking dish.
8.Pour the jar of spaghetti sauce over the cabbage rolls.
9.Cover the dish with foil and bake for 50-60 minutes, or until the cabbage rolls are hot and bubbly.
