2 sheets frozen puff pastry , thawed
1 egg yolk

Instructions

1.Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).

3.Drain excess grease from the skillet, leaving about 1 tablespoon.
4.Add onion, green bell pepper, celery, garlic, carrot, and potato to the skillet; stir to combine.
5.Stir in bay leaf, thyme, parsley, Worcestershire sauce, salt-free seasoning blend, salt, and pepper.
6.Dissolve beef bouillon cubes in hot water and pour over meat mixture. Cook, stirring occasionally, until the vegetables are softened and the mixture is thickened, about 10 minutes. Discard bay leaf.
7.Spread half of the meat mixture into a 9x13-inch baking dish. Sprinkle half of the Cheddar cheese over the meat. Repeat layers with remaining meat mixture and cheese.
8.Roll out puff pastry sheets on a lightly floured surface to fit the size of the baking dish, and lay on top of the cheese. Beat together egg yolk and 1 tablespoon water and brush over pastry.
9.Bake in the preheated oven until the pastry is puffed and golden brown, and the filling is hot and bubbly, 25 to 30 minutes.
