Mazariner-Mazarines are a traditional Swedish pastry that is similar to a small almond tart. Instructions

1.Preheat oven to 350˚F (180˚C).
2.In a large bowl, cream together 4 oz of butter and 1/3 cup of sugar until smooth.
3.Mix in 1 egg yolk and 1 1/3 cups sifted flour until combined.
4.Divide the dough into 12 balls and press each ball into the bottom and up the sides of a muffin cup.
5.In another large bowl, cream 4 oz of butter and 1/4 cup sugar until light and fluffy.
6.Add 7 oz almond paste and beat until smooth.
7.Beat in 3 eggs, one at a time, until well combined.
8.Mix in 1/4 cup sifted flour and 1/4 tsp vanilla extract.
9.Scoop the mixture into the muffin cups.
10.Bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown around the edges.
11.Allow to cool before removing from the muffin cups.
12.In a small bowl, mix together 2 cups of sifted powdered sugar and 3 tbsp water until smooth.
13.Drizzle over the cooled Mazariner-Mazarines and let set for 10 minutes before serving.
