1 cup margarine
1 cup dark brown sugar
8 ounces chocolate chips
Matzoh Candy is a delicious snack that originates from Jewish cuisine. It is typically served during Passover, where leavened bread is forbidden, and matzo becomes a staple ingredient in many Jewish households. This recipe uses salted matzo, which is then topped with a caramel sauce made from margarine and dark brown sugar. The matzo is then sprinkled with chocolate chips and left to cool before being served. It is a perfect snack for those who love crunchy, sweet and salty treats.

Instructions

1.Preheat the oven to 350°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
2.Place the matzo on the baking sheet. You may break the matzo sheets to fit into the pan.
3.In a medium saucepan, melt the margarine and brown sugar together, whisking frequently. When fully melted and combined, continue whisking over medium heat for 3-5 minutes.
4.Pour this caramel mixture over the matzo and spread it evenly with a spatula.
5.Bake for 10 minutes.
6.Sprinkle the chocolate chips over the matzo and return to the oven for another 2-3 minutes. Once the chocolate chips have softened, spread them evenly over the matzo with a spatula.
7.Leave to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before placing it in the refrigerator for at least an hour to set.
8.Once set, break the matzo candy into bite-sized pieces and serve.
