Ingredients

1 lb ground beef
2 garlic cloves , crushed
1 can tomato sauce
1 can tomatoes
1/4 teaspoon chili powder
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon oregano
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1 teaspoon parsley
8 ounces lasagna noodles
8 ounces mozzarella cheese , sliced
1/2 lb cottage cheese ( opt . ricotta )
1/2 cup parmesan cheese , grated

Instructions

1.In a large skillet on medium heat, cook ground beef and garlic until meat is browned.
2.Stir in tomato sauce, tomatoes, chili powder, salt, oregano, pepper and parsley then simmer for 30 minutes.
3.Cook lasagna noodles following package instructions and drain.
4.Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
5.Grease an 8×12 inch casserole dish.
6.Arrange 1/3 of the lasagna noodles in dish.
7.Add 1/2 the cottage cheese, 1/3 of the mozzarella and 1/3 of the parmesan cheeses.
8.Pour 1/2 the meat/sauce mixture over cheeses; repeat layers and top with remaining mozzarella.
9.Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes.
10.Remove foil and bake an additional 25 minutes. Let the casserole cool for 10 minutes before serving.
