200 g honey
50 g butter
100 g brown sugar
1 egg
500 g flour
1 tablespoon Dutch-processed cocoa powder
1 teaspoon cinnamon , grounded
1/2 teaspoon clove , grounded
1/2 teaspoon cardamom , grounded
1 dash nutmeg ( or to taste )
2 teaspoons potash
3 tablespoons rose water ( or just water )
2 teaspoons instant coffee
2 tablespoons rum
20 g coconut fat ( solid )
150 g caster sugar , sieved

This speciality features flour, spices, honey, brown sugar, and a few more ingredients. The recipe begins with melting honey, butter, and brown sugar before adding an egg to the mixture. Then, in another bowl, several ingredients are mixed together, including flour, cocoa powder, cinnamon, cloves, cardamom, and nutmeg. Potash in rose water is added to the flour mixture to form a dough. Instant coffee powder is mixed with rum before being added to the flour mixture. The honey-butter mixture and the dough are combined before being spread over coconut fat and baked in the oven. The baked gingerbread pieces are glazed with caster sugar mixed with a small amount of water to finish.

Instructions

1.Melt honey, butter, and brown sugar in a bowl.
2.Add egg and mix thoroughly.
3.In another bowl, mix flour, cocoa powder, cinnamon, clove, cardamom, and nutmeg.
4.Mix potash in rose water and add it to the flour mixture.
5.In a cup, mix instant coffee powder with rum and add to the flour mixture.
6.Add the liquid ingredients to the honey-butter mixture and mix together.
7.Spread over coconut fat.
8.In a separate bowl, mix caster sugar and little water to form a thick glaze.
9.Cut the spread dough into small pieces and bake in the oven for about 10 to 15 minutes, until golden brown.
10.Coat the baked gingerbread pieces with the glaze to finish.
